Claims Rated Privacy Policy

Claims Rated Limited is committed to providing you with the opportunity to feedback on your claims experience and to benefit from the experiences of others while respecting and protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out how we will protect and process any personal data that you provide to us, we collect about you or we process on behalf of an insurance partner in order to provide you this service.

By using the Claims Rated service, in any way, you are accepting the terms set out in this Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy at any point and will publish the updated policy here. As a user of the Claims Rated service you are accepting these modifications and we recommend that your periodically check this Privacy Policy to ensure you are comfortable with how your personal data will be used.

This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with, and forms part of, our Terms and Conditions and applies to your use of all Claims Rated Limited websites and services.

Information you share with us

When you join Claims Rated the information you provide about yourself (‘Screen Name’ and email address) is stored in a User Profile. You can also optionally add other information about yourself via the My Profile page when you login to ClaimsRated.com.

When you submit a Rating, (a score out of 5, a title, and feedback about your claims experience) and, in some cases, a policy number, we store all of the information that you supply us as well as the date and time the rating was submitted and associate the Rating with your User Profile.

Claims Rated act as the Data Controller for all Personal Data that you submit to ClaimsRated.com. For more information on what these terms mean, please visit the ICO website.

What we will do with this information

Create a User Profile

When you sign up to Claims Rated, or submit your first Rating, we will automatically set up a User Profile for you. Any future Ratings you provide will be associated with this User Profile. Your User Profile enables to you login to ClaimsRated.com to edit your Ratings, access and edit your personal data and the permissions you have given to Claims Rated. Upon sign up we will send you an email with information about how to login to ClaimsRated.com

Claims Rated will not share your email address with any 3rd party.

Publish your Rating

With the exception of the policy number, the information you supply when submitting a Rating along with your Screen Name and the date the rating was submitted is made available publicly on ClaimsRated.com and via selected 3rd parties that we choose to share our content with (for example insurance price comparison sites).

Share your Rating with your insurer

Your Rating, Screen Name, policy number (if you provided one) and the date the rating was submitted may be shared with the insurance brand that you have offered feedback about, and may also be shared with the underwriter, claims handler and other organisations involved in handling your claim. We will not share your email address with anyone. Your insurer, underwriter or claims handler may publicly reply to your feedback via ClaimsRated.com however unless you have explicitly given permission to do so they are not permitted to contact you directly in relation to your Rating.

Information we collect about you

When you access our website, certain information is collected about the connection and the device you are using. Examples of this are your IP address, your device type, the type of browser you are using and various browser settings.

In addition, we use cookies on our website. They are an industry standard practice for storing small pieces of information on the device that you use to access the Website. You can find more information about cookies by visiting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie or numerous other websites that are available via search engines. No personal information about you is stored in cookies, the information stored primarily relates to the device you are using to access the Claims Rated service.

What we will do with this information

We collect and analyse this information to better understand how customers access the Claims Rated service with a view to providing the best customer experience possible and, when necessary, to identify potential fraudulent activity.

Contacting you

In the unlikely event that we need to contact you about your rating, then we will do so via the email address that you supply us. An example of the sort of reasons we may need to contact you are if an insurer contests the accuracy of your feedback.

If you have given us permission to do so, we may contact you occasionally with information about the Claims Rated service. If you would like to unsubscribe from these communications, please inform us via email by emailing enquiries@claimsrated.com.

Your data security

Whilst every effort is made by Claims Rated to secure your communication with us, due to the distributed nature of the internet there is inherent risk whenever accessing the Website and we cannot warrant the security of the information that you transfer to us.

Links to insurers

Sometimes we might provide a link to the insurer’s website alongside their Claims Ratings. We haven’t tested all of these websites and cannot guarantee or verify their contents. You should therefore note that if you click on external links you do so at your own risk and we cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any external links mentioned. If you find a link that isn’t working as your would expect we would really appreciate you letting us know at enquiries@claimsrated.com.

Sharing your Ratings on Social Media

You may want to share Claims Ratings on social media either by sharing a link to your rating or by using one of the social sharing buttons. You should be mindful that by sharing details on social media you are subject to the social media platforms own privacy policy and that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page respectively through your social media platform account. When interacting with social media platforms we advise that you practice due care and caution to protect your own privacy and personal data.

How to access your information

You can access and edit your personal data, ratings and permissions and change your password via your User Profile (if you login to ClaimsRated.com) or by contacting us at enquiries@claimsrated.com. If you would like to know any other information in regard to your personal data, or would like us to remove all Personal Data that we hold about you, then please contact us at enquiries@claimsrated.com.
